Machine Embroidery Patterns

September 5th, 2009

All embroidery machine manufacturers want you to purchase designs from their library so that they can maximize their profits.  Singer, Brother, Pfaff and the rest all have their own proprietary systems and designs.  If your machine has a USB port you can take advantage of the internet and get free machine embroidery patterns from several different sites.

There are also a great many sites that offer machine embroidery patterns for a nominal fee (much less than those from the sewing machine brands) and many times includes free designs with a purchase.  One site, www.secretsof.com offers over five hundred designs for free if you sign up for their email newsletter.  They add designs every week to the free department.  You can find just about any kind of design at these sites except for licensed designs like Disney, Marvel and other famous licenses.

Depending on the season or occasion you can find the following categories of machine embroidery patterns.  Spring Seasonal has Easter designs, Holiday lace, chocolate bunnies, floral hearts, valentine hearts and kids.  The Little Boys section has Transport for boys (20 designs of balloons, trains, cars, planes, etc.), Army for boys, vibrant sneakers, boys room accessories, baby boy medley and Mexican and pirate tales.

Little girls has the most machine embroidery patterns with the following themes:  Butterfly girls, baby girl medley, flower girls, bluebonnet girls appliqué, sunbonnet betsi, shoes and purses, country rag dolls, stick people, sunbonnet appliqué and redwork girls and bonnets.  The Little Baby section has Jolly clowns, baby’s little things, baby’s garden, fancy baby and summer patches.  There are Sports and Hobbies, Kitchen Designs, Florals and Garden, Flying Critters, Land Critters, Ocean Critters, Christmas Designs, Monograms and more.

All of the machine embroidery patterns on this website are available in 4 x 4 sizes and some can be bought in a 5 x 7 size.  The average cost per machine embroidery pattern is around one dollar.  Monograms are much less.  The average alphabet is fifteen dollars.

Other sites like www.bunnycup.com offer free machine embroidery patterns with each purchase.  Their schedule for free goods is buy one set get one free, buy two sets get three free, buy three sets get six sets free, buy four sets get ten free, buy five sets get fifteen sets free.  After five sets each additional set is only five dollars.  All free sets have to be less than the price of the purchased sets.
