There are a number of makers of embroidery machines for the home and for commercial use as well.  Singer, Pfaff, and Bernina are three major manufacturers of embroidery machines.  Other companies making an embroidery machine for sale are Toyota, Melco, Brother, Tajima and Barudan.  You can choose the number of heads for your embroidery machine and that will allow you to do that many different colors of embroidery thread on your designs.

Brother makes both stand alone embroidery machine and combination embroidery sewing machines.  Brother machines are available at sewing machine dealers and online but not at most major retailers like JoAnn Fabrics and Michaels.  The first model Brother offers is the PR-620.  It offers six needles and one embroidery head with auto color change.  The maximum embroidery size is twelve by eighth inches; has a USB port and the maximum speed is one thousand stitches per minute (1000 spm).

The next model is the PE-780D.  This is a computerized model with 188 stitches built in with over fifty designs featuring Disney characters.  There are six built in fonts and you can add more easily with your flash drive via the USB port.  The built in memory slot allows you to add any number of optional Brother embroidery designs.
